Sherwood Colliery leapfrogged Hucknall Town to take top spot in the Central Midlands League Black Dragon Badges South Division after a 2-1 win over Hucknall Rolls at Debdale Park.

Early goals from Liam Green for Sherwood and Harry Allen for Rolls saw the sides level for most of the game before Lucan Barker’s 82nd minute header settled it in the home team’s favour.

Selston looked to be coasting to three points in their first home game of the season as two goals from Aaron Brady and one for Tom Widdowson gave them a comfortable lead against Collingham, but the visitors put on a late rally, two Ryan Rushen goals making for a close finish.

A spectacular effort from Ross McCaughey gave Bulwell an early advantage in their match with Clay Cross Town, but the Millers struck back, Danny Fullwood, Chris Sharman and Danny Robinson’s goals ensuring the points went back to Derbyshire.

After four successive draws, Swanwick Pentrich Road finally went one step further, Shane Buckerfield and Dean Owen getting the goals in a 2-0 win over Matlock Town Reserves.

Pinxton had settled their game with Blidworth Welfare by half-time, Luke Walker with two and Cory Hardy setting up a 3-0 home win.

Linby Colliery added to Mickleover RBL’s woes, beating them 2-1 at Church Lane. Dale Chapman struck with an early goal, with Ruban Mitchell adding a second, Abidemi Lamina replying for the Legion.

Holbrook St Michaels recorded their first win of the season, Silas Majoni and Yacoub Moulay on the scoresheet as they beat Southwell City 2-0.

Despite dropping their first points of the season, Thorne Colliery top the Black Dragon Badges North Division, their point in a 3-3 draw at Dronfield Town Reserves putting them a point clear of Appleby Frodingham and Phoenix.

Kyle Palmer, with two, and Darren Fell were on target for Thorne with Ash Rycroft, Wayne Garrity and Arran Gordon scoring for Dronfield.

Phoenix returned to winning ways with a 3-1 defeat of Newark Town. A Steve McDonnell goal separated the teams at the break, his second and one from Sam Hadfield putting the visitors three up before a spectacular 35 yard effort from Ian Hillier reduced the arrears.

Brodsworth inflicted a fifth successive defeat on Dinnington Town, Josh Bowkett (2), Josh Dodds, Brad Heaps and Courtney Peynardo all scoring in a five goal win.

Easington United had two goal Danny Barron to thank for their first win of the season, strikes on 15 and 83 minutes proving decisive at Welbeck Welfare.

Harworth are still undefeated after seeing off near neighbours Retford by three goals to nil. Karl Burrows opened the scoring on 12 minutes, with Josh Dickinson doubling the margin just before the interval. A late Tom Pick goal gave Harworth a comfortable win.

Lee Winterman’s penalty proved the winner for Bentley Colliery in their match with Bilsthorpe.
