Chesterfield's next opponents Wrexham hoping to strengthen before crunch relegation clash on Saturday
National League strugglers Wrexham AFC could add a couple more additions to their squad before Saturday’s relegation clash against Chesterfield at the Proact.
The Red Dragons are two places above the Spireites and have five more points.
Dean Keates’ men have won two and drawn one of their last three matches without conceding a single gol.
Wrexham were busy in the transfer market last month as they brought in five players - Dan Jarvis, Davis Keillor-Dunn, Jordan Ponticelli, Jay Harris and Jordon Thompson.
And they might not be finished yet ahead of this weekend’s crucial game.
On their transfer business, Keates told The Leader: "As a football club we are delighted.
"I spent most of Friday on the phone and eventually we got what we wanted in the end.
"We got the main targets. There are still one or two that might come in this week, we will see how that goes.”
Town caretaker boss John Pemberton confirmed after Saturday’s match that he does not have any more funds to bring in new players following the loan signings of Ross Fitzsimons, Jordan Cropper and Nathan Tyson.
Spireites striker Mike Fondop is available for selection against his former side after missing the last three games through suspension.
Talking to North Wales Live, Keates added: “We will have a look at Chesterfield through the week and work on what we feel are their strengths and weaknesses where we can put our game onto them and all being well we can go there and get the three points.”
