The Magpies have won four on the bounce in the league and sit third in the table.

It is set to be a tough test physically for the Spireites who have not played a game for three weeks and have only had three days of training leading up to this fixture following the latest isolation period.

Town boss James Rowe says Chesterfield will 'relish' tomorrow's clash against Notts County.

“It is a great game to be involved in and it is a real challenge for us against a good opponent,” he said.

“They are probably going to be one of the toughest opponents I have faced so far in my tenure here and it comes off the back off a break.

“You could say we will be fresh or you could say they are on a roll so who knows what tomorrow will bring.

“They (Notts County) have got a good structure, a clear identity, a manager that has done very well in the EFL and who is also doing well at Notts County so it is a challenge all-round but it is one we are going to relish and I know what we can bring to the team game tomorrow. It will be intriguing to see how it all maps out.”

After tomorrow, Chesterfield face two more teams in the play-offs in Altrincham and Stockport County but Town will not be holding back in their approach.

Rowe added: “These are the games you want to be involved in. You want to attack these head on and have a right go and for me it is going to be really intriguing to see if we can have an imprint on the games against the teams in the upper echelons of the league. Can we implement what we have been trying to do over the last 12-13 weeks? What influence are we going to have on the pitch as a squad?”
