Chesterfield team news ahead of Wealdstone clash

Haydn Hollis, Akwasi Asante and Tom Denton are long-term absentees, but Alex Whittle, George Carline and Fraser Kerr are edging closer to being match-ready.

Carline, last season’s player of the year, managed the final 15 minutes in the win against Aldershot Town last weekend, Kerr was on the bench and Whittle did not make the squad.

When asked if there were any fresh injuries for Saturday’s home match against Wealdstone, Rowe said the players he can choose from are the same as last week.

"Alex Whittle is another week ahead and so is George Carline, they are pushing now and we are looking good,” he explained.

"I think one of the three are ready to have a real impact with some big minutes this weekend.

"The other two are slowly catching up so it is a mixed bag really.”
