Chesterfield team news ahead of tough Eastleigh clash
Tom Whelan is set to return for Chesterfield against Eastleigh on Tuesday night after serving his three-match ban.
The midfielder was sent off in the 2-2 draw at Dagenham and Redbridge on January 30 but another isolation period for the Spireites meant he has had to wait longer than expected to make his comeback.
The 24-year-old has had an impressive start to his Town career with his energetic displays and creative spark so his return will be a big boost.
Meanwhile, Nathan Tyson could be among the substitutes, with James Rowe saying after the defeat against Stockport County that the experienced striker will come back into the fold.
Tuesday night’s clash involves two of the division’s form teams, with Chesterfield having recorded six wins and two draws from their last 10 games, while Eastleigh have won five and drawn three in their last eight fixtures.
Eastleigh’s front pair of Tyrone Barnett and Ben House both have seven goals each this season.
