Chesterfield: No hiding place in Spireites survival scrap
Danny Wilson says the relegation battle, which will finally be over if they beat Bury toay, is helping him form opinions on who he wants at the club next season.
The Spireites boss said: “The one thing you’ve got to remember at this time of season, particularly when you’re having the type of season we are, is it’s a test of character.

“We need to strip everything back and see what kind of player we’ve got at the club.
“Are we good enough to stay up, are we good enough to push forward after that, if that is the case? These next two games will be suggestive as to who we want to keep and who we don’t.”
Wilson’s adamant, however, that he has got the necessary talent and desire in the dressing room to achieve his stated aim of League One football next season.
“We know exactly what’s needed now,” he said.

“The players are big enough to put a big performance in, which is what is needed.
“We’ve got to make sure that we keep a level head no matter what’s going on around us, and go out there and put in the biggest performance in we can.”
Wilson and his backroom staff will be tuned in to events elsewhere today, knowing that wins for Blackpool and Doncaster would ensure the battle to avoid the drop goes to the last weekend if the Spireites fail to overcome Bury.

“I think we’ll have to try and respond in some respect, if things (elsewhere) aren’t going our way. We might have to take chances we might not normally take. We have to be mindful that other results impact us.”
