Chesterfield manager James Rowe on transfers and whether Jim Kellermann could be recalled from Tamworth loan spell

The manager is happy with the recruitment they have done in the summer and nothing is imminent after a strong start to the campaign.

However, as the campaign progresses they could reassess the situation.

"The new players have shown that they can play a big part in what we want to achieve this year,” Rowe explained.

"In terms of anyone else new in, I am always looking to improve the team. If someone comes available that can improve us we will be interested but, having said that, I am very happy with the squad of players that I have got at the moment.”

When asked if there is anything is close, he added: "No, it will be more at the midway point we might have a look and assess what is achievable in the next five months up to May and what we need to get there, if anything."

With Jack Clarke set to be out injured for at least two months with a hamstring injury the DT asked about the possibility of Jim Kellermann returning from his short loan spell at Tamworth.

But Rowe said although he has been playing well he is not ready yet.

“We can’t put ourselves in front of where he needs to be otherwise we will just lose him,” he added.

"He is doing well at Tamworth, he is getting the game time he has needed for the last two years.

"It is important he completes that cycle before he is ready to come back and play at the intensity that I am looking for at National League level.

“I know him really well. I have worked with him before and I know where he needs to be. Technically and tactically I have got no doubts where he is. He is good enough to play for Chesterfield Football Club for sure and be at the top end of this league but the other two areas (physically and mentally) he just needs to improve a little bit and games will give him that.”
