“Nathan Tyson has been the worst - it is too soon for him for Saturday’s game so we will have to see how he comes through the next few days,” Pemberton said.

“He has got a hamstring problem. We had it scanned and he has got a slight tear in it.

“We actually thought it was more serious but he seems alright.

“I think it is one where it will be a couple of weeks at least I think.

“It is one of those where we will have to take day-by-day. There is not a lot we can do about it. It has happened and we have to move on.

“We speak to a lot of clubs and they are getting a lot of soft tissue injuries more than usual. The players have not done anything for six months and then they are going into a schedule which is Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday so it is difficult.”

Meanwhile, Jordan Cropper is back in training and could be in contention for Saturday after recovering from a muscle injury.

Josef Yarney remains unavailable due to suspension but will back after the weekend.

Liam Mandeville missed the Stockport game last time out due to a Covid-19 precaution but is set to return to training with the squad tomorrow (Friday).

Pemberton told the DT: “Liam has been self-isolating so that is why he has not been involved. He has not had Covid but he has come into contact with someone so just out of safety to everybody we have to self-isolate him.”

On the Covid situation, Pemberton added: “It is so difficult to cope with at the moment because every day you think you have got it nailed down and it is something else. The club has spent a lot of money on new testing kits and we are trying to test on a regular basis when we feel we need to.”
