The 22nd October black tie ball is nearing a sell out.

But we’ve teamed up with the Spireites to give away two pairs of £150 tickets.

Our four competition winners will enjoy transport from the Proact to Chatsworth, a champagne and canapé reception, entertainment from a classically trained electronic volinist and ‘Rat Pack’ singers and dinner in the Carriage House Restaurant.

The link between Chesterfield Football Club and Chatsworth House goes back many years.

The 11th Duke of Devonshire was club president for around half a century until his death in 2004.

And His Grace the Duke of Devonshire is a patron of the club, who famously welcomed the Spireites to train in his back garden in 2012.

A club spokesman said: “The gala ball is an opportunity to commemorate our long and storied history as a club and we’re delighted to be able to offer four supporters the chance to join the celebrations.”

The Derbyshire Times has been reporting on football in the town since 1864, with a 2nd January report referring to a game between ‘Chesterfield and Norton Football Clubs.’

But it is believed the Spireites were officially formed in 1866.

From 1871 to 2010 Town played their home matches at Saltergate, before a move to the 10,500 capacity Proact Stadium.

If you want to celebrate the 150 years of Chesterfield FC, just answer the following simple question to be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets.
