That Spireites team news

Sheckleford returns from injury to start. First Chesterfield appearance of the season for Clements. Berry gets his chance to impress. No King in the squad.

Atmosphere is building!

Both sets of players are just going through their last drills before kick-off.

There are 600 Southend fans here today and they starting to crank up the noise with the help of a drum.

The pitch is looking a bit tired, which is to be expected at this time of year, but it's still in decent condition in some areas.

It should be a good game this afternoon, Southend have the best defensive record in the league and beat Chesterfield in the reverse fixture.

Don't go anywhere as we bring you all the key action.

Here come the teams!

Chesterfield are of course in their home strip, while Southend are in all yellow.

The Spireites have won all of their last 17 home games in all competitions. Southend will be out to half that today.

Referee Garreth Rhodes blows his whistle and off we go!

Half chance for Southend

The hosts win an early corner, it is only partially cleared and it comes back to Bridge, who crosses into the box, but Scott-Morriss' acrobatic attempt goes wide.

GOOOAAAAAALLLL!!! 1-0

BERRY!!!

1-0 to Chesterfield after four minutes. And it's an absolute SCREAMER from Berry, who played a one-two with Oldaker before curling into the top corner via the underside of the crossbar from the edge of the area. What a goal!

Southend looked to have equalised but Williams did ever so well to hook it off the line!

It was Scott-Morriss with the cross, Dackers nipped in front of Tyrer, it was going in, but Williams sensed the danger to hack it away!

What a goal that would have been!

Jacobs, Clements and Mandeville link-up with some superb one-touch football down the left, it creates an opening for Berry, who shoots at goal about 14 yards out, but it is blocked, claims for a handball are ignored.
