In on Sunday - Chesterfield manager cancels players' day off
‘Our supporters want to know that we are doing everything we can’
Chesterfield players have had their day off cancelled in the wake of the setback at Port Vale.

The squad will be in tomorrow to go through the 1-0 defeat and start ironing out the flaws that are stopping them making inroads into the top seven in League Two.
“The players will be in on Sunday,” manager Paul Cook told the Derbyshire Times.
“Tomorrow is (usually) our day off yet my weekend, the players’ weekend and the supporters’ weekend is now on the floor.
“We keep doing the same things so now have to try and break the momentum of what we’re doing.
“Our supporters want to know we are doing everything we can to win the game against Colchester on Tuesday night I think when they know that then they’ll turn up and back us.”
Bolton Wanderers loan man Joel Randall looks set to be missing.
A hamstring injury forced him off in the first half at Vale Park and Cook said “it doesn’t look good”.
Added Cook: “The game should have ended 0-0. A good team would have come here and drawn 0-0 and stayed on an unbeaten run and moved on. We haven’t got that ingredient at the minute and it is something we have got to search for.”

Frustration aside, the manager felt his team should have had a penalty for a late challenge on Remeao Hutton.
“The kid has caught him,” he said. “Sometimes you feel things aren’t going your way. We are not getting the little bounce of the ball or a decision and we’ve got to make them margins go our way.
“We had fantastic travelling support. They only want a goal at their end so they can erupt and we draw 1-1 and while my job is to manipulate the team to be better, we have to do it ourselves on the pitch. They are in control of so many things yet we have lapses in concentration, little moments that we are going to work hard to eradicate.”
