Chesterfield defender Haydn Hollis signs new contract
Defender Haydn Hollis has been rewarded for his performances with an extended contract at the Spireites.
The 28-year-old has been outstanding at the heart of the Town defence since manager James Rowe was appointed last November.
The length of contract has not been disclosed by the club.
The centre-back said: “I’m delighted. It’s a great place to be and when I was offered the chance to extend my contract, it was a no-brainer for me.”
Hollis has been a rock for the Blues since coming into the middle of a back three and has shown great leadership and suppport for his teammates when he has not been selected.
He added: "You’ve got to see the bigger picture and know that if you do get a chance, you’ve got to take it. I’m very grateful to the manager for giving me that chance.”
Hollis joins boss Rowe, Akwasi Asante, Curtis Weston and Laurence Maguire in signing a new contract in recent months.
