Nine new players have come in since Rowe was appointed less than two months ago.

Speaking on the club’s official We Are Sailing podcast, Goodwin said: “I am quite sure that the manager has not finished with his reshaping of the squad at this point in time.

“I have to say every time we give him a break for 10 days for Covid I think it gives him time to sit down and have a think about what he might want to do so that is a real positive.

“But yeah I am sure there are one or two more.”

When Chesterfield appointed Rowe from Gloucester City and brought striker Akwasi Asante with him, they agreed not to approach any more contracted players at the National League North club.

Since then George Carline and Alex Whittle have both left Gloucester and signed for Town after becoming free agents, which, according to Goodwin, did not break the terms of the agreement they have with the Tigers.

“What I would like to do is reassure our supporters that in terms of the players we have taken from Gloucester that we have not broken any regulations or any agreement that we might have had with Gloucester and we have spoken to their chairman before we have actually signed any of those players so the chairman has been quite happy about that,” he explained.

In the last week, another Gloucester player, defender Gavin Gunning, 29, has been linked with Chesterfield.

But unless Gunning becomes a free agent, like Carline and Whittle did, then Goodwin says he will not be signing.

He added: “The one that everyone is talking about now, that player is still contracted to Gloucester and therefore we are not looking at him at this point in time. I am not saying that would not change, but we won’t be breaking any regulations or agreements we have got with Gloucester over that one. So that is just to say to supporters don’t worry about that, we will not be putting the club’s reputation or its standing at risk.”
