Chesterfield threw away a lead against Hartlepool United on Tuesday night at the Technique Stadium and had striker Scott Boden sent off.
After the game Pemberton admitted they lacked a cutting edge up front and with Boden set to be missing for the next three matches, he has to decide whether to bring in an additional forward or look to balance the squad in another area where he feels they are short.

Do we need somewhere else? The team at the moment says we need another striker but the balance of the team, it is not a striker we need. We just have to look at it and see where we are. I have got to do what feels right for the team long-term. And like I say, if Boden is missing for three games then it opens the door for someone else.”
In terms of injuries, Curtis Weston limped off after an hour but it does not sound too serious.
“He is all right, he has just stiffened up,” Pemberton said. “He has obviously been out injured and he has come back and I thought he was excellent. We certainly missed him when he came off but hopefully he will be back for the weekend.”
Haydn Hollis was not deemed fit enough to be in the squad, while Nathan Tyson missed out in a place in the matchday 16 but could be pushing for a place this weekend.
Pemberton added: “He is gradually building back. He is not that far away. I did not want to rush him back.”
