Chesterfield and the planned discussions over their summer trialists
Chesterfield will discuss over the coming days the future of their summer trialists.
Four featured in the pre-season friendly at home to Sheffield United today which finished 0-0.

Manager Paul Cook and his staff also took a look at some of them in last week’s warm-up game away to Clay Cross Town and there will be another chance in Tuesday’s visit to Halifax Town.
"We will discuss that over the weekend,” said assistant manager Danny Webb. “They have certainly given their all.

"The trialists we have brought in have all got different backgrounds. Some are from non-league, some have been released by academies, some have had good careers and have had injury problems. You can work out for yourself who they are but I can say that from the first day or pre-season they have really shown they want to be here and whether or not we sign them is the gaffer’s call. They did themselves no harm at all today.”
New signing Alfie Pond picked up a shoulder injury against the Blades match which isn’t thought to be serious although a similar injury suffered in training yesterday by Malik Owalabi-Belewu is more concerning. Ryan Stirk is also out at the moment.
The first team squad can nevertheless report back for work on Monday buoyed by a good result against higher grade opponents.
Added Webb: “There were good performances from both sets of players, albeit they are Championship players. It was only our second pre-season game and if we had got done four or five we probably be bringing out the cliches about fitness and minutes.
"As it turned out it was a good display and a match we thought we could have won towards the end.
"Boots (Ryan Boot) made a great save and we hit the bar so it was a pretty fair result. All the lads can go away from it with their heads held high.”
