Belper United saw off basement side Southwell City 7-0 at Christchurch Meadow.

Matthew Brittle, Ben Stockley and Dean Oliver all struck twice, Sam Vickers also on target as Belper closed the gap at the top to two points with four games in hand.

Selston roared back from last week’s League Cup defeat, inflicting a 7-1 home defeat on Bulwell. Ben Moore opened the scoring for the visitors, Conor Carter equalising for Bulwell.

This was the home side’s high point, however, as they went down to 10 men before Joe Riley restored the advantage five minutes from half-time.

Selston ran away with it after the break, Tom Widdowson, Sean Gregory, Riley with his second, Jamie Renshaw and an own goal completing the scoring.

Hucknall Rolls hit six without reply against Keyworth United. Chay Betteridge hit two with the others shared between Kyle McDermott, Danny Hayes, Jack Patterson and Harry Allen.

The closest game was at Debdale Park, where two Julian Topliss goals gave Sherwood Colliery a 3-2 win over Clay Cross Town.

Lee Easom opened the scoring for the Wood, Aiden Ordidge bringing the scores level. Topliss’s double put daylight between the teams before Josh Pickering’s late strike gave the Millers hope.

The league’s last representatives in the FA Vase did it again as a last minute goal saw Pinxton send step 5 side Long Eaton United crashing out on their own ground.

Not overawed by their higher league opposition, Pinxton took a 17th minute lead through Joel Smith, but were pegged back by a controversial penalty decision on the stroke of half-time.

A deflected corner put the home side ahead on the hour, but Pinxton struck back within a minute, Jake Vernon pulling them level.

With seven minutes left, Long Eaton’s keeper was sent-off, but the resulting penalty was touched onto a post and cleared.

The visitors then struck the post, but completed a deserved win two minutes into added time, Pete Stubley providing the decisive goal to spark wild celebrations among the visiting support.

There were plenty of goals to warm a freezing day in the Black Dragon Badges North Division, the seven matches producing 48 between them.

Top of the table Glapwell scored seven at Welbeck Welfare, and it could have been more had it not been for home keeper James Rice, who pulled off a string of first class saves to keep the score in single figures.

Individual scoring honours went to Josh Parfitt who scored a first half hat-trick and added two more after the interval to take his total to 22 for the season.

Adam Kimberley and Tom Norris got the others as Glapwell took their winning run to eight, in which they have hit the net 51 times.

Appleby Frodingham are hot on their heels. They were 6-0 winners over Thorne Colliery, Mark Anderson’s two and one from Richard Golland giving them a comfortable half-time lead before Danny Boulton’s hat trick extended the winning margin. Retford lie in third place.

They reached the half way point in their season with a 4-1 defeat of Bilsthorpe at Eakring Road. There was another hat-trick here, Luke Tong netting three in the first half with Craig Gould replying for Bilsthorpe.

Jason Swannack’s second half goal made sure of maximum points for the visitors.

A sombre afternoon at Easington United saw them go down 6-2 to visitors Harworth Colliery.

Danny Barron’s two goals were wiped out by Louis Reed, a Blake Freeman penalty and Tommy Durrant, Harworth extending their lead after the break through Kenzie Tomlinson (2) and Reed’s second.

Another man among the goals was Ollerton Town’s Callum Atkinson, who got four of his side’s six, including a first half hat-trick at Dinnington Town.

Kyle Clarkson and Will Horton were also on the scoresheet as Ollerton recorded their seventh win in the last eight.

Yet another hat-trick here, this one for Brodsworth’s Josh Bowkett. Courtney Peynado and Billy Lumsden also scored for the visitors, with Josh Copeland (2) and Billy Parkhouse getting the goals for Bentley.

It was the same scoreline at Askern where the home side got the better of Dronfield Town Reserves. Craig Fletcher got a brace for Askern, Jason Kearsley, Gary Mundy and Shane Carver adding one apiece, Dronfield replying through Ash Rycroft, Will Earl and Sam Fisher.
