Caldwell '˜comfortable' dealing with contract renewals and transfer negotiations
Gary Caldwell doesn't believe Chesterfield need to employ someone to replace ex CEO Chris Turner and deal with contract renewals and transfer negotiations.
The manager said: “I don’t think we need to employ someone to do that.
“If we know budgets and Ashley works with the owner on that, I’m very comfortable dealing with that situation.”
Caldwell believes a more pressing need is in the area of recruitment and scouting.
“What I think we need is someone to find the players,” he said.
“What I can’t do is go to games every day, because I’m training. I can’t go to games at the weekend because we have games.
“We need someone to put in a department that actually finds the talent.
“Once we find the talent then getting them here shouldn’t be a problem.”
