A decade on history is repeating itself with Spireites poised to lift the National League title.
5. Ian Evatt
Captain Ian Evatt was named caretaker boss at Spireites on 23 April 2018, following the departure of Jack Lester, Evat. He has gone on to enoy a successful career in management. Aftetr passing his coaching badges, Sam Hird Hird took over as assistant manager at Barrow towards the end of February 2021. On 2 July 2021, Hird joined League One side Bolton Wanderers as first team coach. He left that role in September 2023 having accepted a role at the Professional Footballers' Association. Doyle signed for Championship side Cardiff City in Feb 2015. He went on to play for Preston, Oldham, Bradford and Swindon before retiring from the game on 27 July 2023 after a spell with Shamrock Rovers. Doyle is a fully qualified electrician. Photo: Ben Hoskins
Gary Roberts joined ormer side Ipswich Town as first team coach in March 2021 to join former side Ipswich Town as first team coach, after which he retired from playing. Roberts left the role in December 2021 following the sacking of Cook as manager. On 7 April 2022, Roberts joined Chesterfield as first team coach, once again as part of Paul Cook's backroom staff.
