Alfreton Town begin the first of four crucial festive period games in nine days with a Boxing Day trip to take on Lincoln City in Vanarama Conference action.

Reds manager Nicky Law will be looking for a much-improved display from his side after suffering a 5-1 home defeat against Macclesfield Town in the last outing before Christmas.

There are no new injury worries or suspensions for the Reds boss, but he will be without striker Paul Clayton who joined Vanarama Conference North side Harrogate Town on loan for a month on Christmas Eve.

It is a fourth game against the Imps already this season with three of them coming at Sincil Bank where City triumphed 5-1 in an FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay after a 1-1 draw at the Impact Arena, whilst Alfreton recorded a 2-0 win in Lincolnshire in the FA Trophy first round tie.

So going into this game honours are even with one draw and a win apiece so far.

The Reds have a decent record at Sincil Bank over the past few seasons but will need to be on their game to get any points reward against a Lincoln side who have won seven and drawn three of their thirteen home games on home soil this term.
