Darley Dale so close to another win
Having won the toss, the hosts made a steady start, with an excellent spell of bowling from Dougie Briggs (4-35) ripping through the top order.
Despite runs from Chris Worthy (41) and Callum Hiron (25), Briggs’ spell, alongside that of the ever-dependable Simon Cotterill (1-24) ensured the visitors did not get away.

Hide AdWith wickets at regular intervals, Chesterfield were all out off the final ball of the innings for 135 with Josh Fox (31) guiding his side to a competitive target.
There were wickets too for Nathan Fearn (3-10) and Sam Lightfoot (1-21).
Darley made a cautious start in their response, reaching 39-0 from 20 overs before Paul Chadbourne departed for 15.
With wickets in hand, Craig Elliott and Jamie Watts then looked to take the fight to the visitors but progress was checked when the former was run out for 27.

Hide AdWatts and Andrew Paulett reasserted the initiative but the dismissal of Paulett for 21 triggered a mini Darley collapse and with it, the runs dried up.
Despite useful contributions from James Marsden (11*) and Matt Heath (11), Darley were unable to get past the finishing line, concluding on 132-7 from their 46 overs.
