England must “lose the fear of failure” to reach New Zealand’s one-day international benchmark this summer, according to Jos Buttler.

Lancashire wicketkeeper Buttler challenged England to produce a change of mindset”for the five-match Royal London series against New Zealand that starts on June 9.

Incoming England boss Trevor Bayliss has stamped his authority on the 14-man squad to be led by Paul Farbrace in the short-format series against this year’s World Cup finalists.

Test stars Ian Bell, Stuart Broad, James Anderson and Gary Ballance have been jettisoned in favour of a youthful line-up, building towards the 2017 Champions Trophy and 2019 World Cup on home soil.
