Trent Bridge to host England One-Day internationals against Sri Lanka and Pakistan
Trent Bridge will host England’s Royal London One-Day International fixtures against Sri Lanka on Tuesday 21 June and Pakistan on Tuesday 30 August in 2016.
Tickets for the pair of floodlit fixtures, each with 2pm starts, are yet to go on sale but supporters can register their interest at trentbridge.co.uk to stand the best possible chance of getting in the ground.
The match against Sri Lanka is the first in the five match series, where as the third One-Day International against Pakistan will follow clashes at the Ageas Bowl and Lord’s.
Interest in next summer’s international programme has been heightened by England’s recent Ashes triumph and the explosive nature of the 3-2 Royal London One-Day Series victory over New Zealand.
The international season in 2016 will start with England facing Sri Lanka across all three formats from May to early July, followed by Pakistan’s first tour of this country since 2010 from July to early September.
“Alastair Cook was absolutely right to acknowledge the contribution of England’s fans to our Ashes success,” said ECB Chief Executive Officer Tom Harrison.
“They have been unwavering in their support this summer and we would urge as many as possible to return to our international venues next summer – and get behind our men’s and women’s teams in large numbers once again.
”Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka will also attract strong support from their own communities in this country, which all adds up to another exciting summer of international action played in front of packed houses for all three formats of the game.”
Next year’s fixtures are the latest in a run of international cricket at Trent Bridge, which has included Investec Ashes Test Matches in both 2013 and 2015.
The 2017 is set to see the venue welcome South Africa and the West Indies in Test and One-Day International cricket respectively.
