Derbyshire declare on big total against Gloucestershire at lunch

Derbyshire added 34 runs in 11 overs this morning (Tuesday) before declaring on 545-9 against Gloucestershire at Bristol, which gave them a first-innings lead of 270.

Teenage wicketkeeper Harvey Hosein progressed to a maiden first-class half-century before his dismissal by Liam Norwell for 61, caught behind by Gareth Roderick off a miscued pull, brought the declaration from skipper Wayne Madsen. Fellow youngster Tom Taylor was left unbeaten on 17.

Gloucestershire made a cautious start to their second innings, but lost Chris Dent for two to the last ball of the seventh over when he played back to Mark Footitt and edged a catch to Hosein.
