Derbyshire declare on big total against Gloucestershire at lunch

Teenage wicketkeeper Harvey Hosein progressed to a maiden first-class half-century before his dismissal by Liam Norwell for 61, caught behind by Gareth Roderick off a miscued pull, brought the declaration from skipper Wayne Madsen. Fellow youngster Tom Taylor was left unbeaten on 17.

Gloucestershire made a cautious start to their second innings, but lost Chris Dent for two to the last ball of the seventh over when he played back to Mark Footitt and edged a catch to Hosein.

Gareth Roderick joined Will Tavare in the middle and the pair steadied the innings as Gloucestershire reached 47 for one from 17 overs at lunch. Tavare has made 14, while Roderick has struck four boundaries in his 27.
