DCCC v LCCC Day 2 Lunch: Derbyshire’s top order blown away by Peter Siddle

An outstanding spell of fast bowling from Peter Siddle blew away Derbyshire’s top order after Lancashire lost their last two wickets for only one run on the second morning of the Division Two match at Derby.

The Australian removed Martin Guptill, who was playing his first first-class innings for 14 months, and captain Wayne Madsen without scoring after Tom Bailey trapped Ben Slater lbw.

Siddle bowled an excellent line in his nine over spell and found late movement to have Guptill and Madsen caught at second slip to reduce Derbyshire to 26 for 3 before Billy Godleman and Wes Durston steered the home side to 74 for 3 at lunch in reply to Lancashire’s first innings 293.
