The club has received a £1,000 training grant from Derbyshire Community Trust.

The Club, based at Buxton Swimming and Fitness Centre, has staged a number of very popular children’s aquathlons in Buxton during the past couple of years.

As a result of this success, the club decided to expand its membership to include a new junior section.

In order to provide child-specific coaching the club now needs to have a number of its volunteer members appropriately trained.

Funds from the recent grant has enabled the club to subsidise two members who are both currently enrolled on British Triathlon accredited Level 2 training courses.

At a recent executive meeting the committee took the opportunity to give a big thanks to Derbyshire Community Trust for their generosity as depicted in the accompanying photo (see, right).

Meanwhile, the club is welcoming new members for 2015, with subscriptions being taken.

Prices are £10 for junior members and £20 for senior and veteran athletes.

Membership benefits include being able to take up offers such as 10 swims for £45, as opposed to £50, and a free coached swim session on Tuesdays, 6-8am at Buxton pool.
