During Spotlight Hours and Mystery Bonus Hours, players will notice a significant increase in how often a featured Pokémon spawns.

More spawns means higher odds of running into the Shiny version of that hour's featured Pokémon.

So, to put it simply, certain Pokémon will appear more frequently in Pokémon GO for just an hour at a time.

When do Spotlight hours happen?

It looks as though Spotlight Hours are always going to be held on a Tuesday evening every week.

They'll last for an hour, and will run from 6 to 7pm in whichever timezone you're playing the game in.

When do Mystery Bonus Hours happen?

Likewise, the Mystery Bonus Hours also appear to be on a regular, weekly schedule.

Although one key difference: Mystery Bonus Hours take place on Thursday evenings, but again, they'll last for an hour, and will run from 6 to 7pm in whichever timezone you're playing the game in.

What's the latest featured Pokémon?

At the time of writing, this week's Spotlight Hour (3 March) is yet to kick off in the UK.

But as the event runs 6 to 7pm in each timezone, that means that it has already occurred in other parts of the world, effectively giving us a glimpse into the future.

That means that we're able to predict with some certainty the featured Pokémon.

However, today's Spotlight doesn't feature any one specific Pokémon, and instead, there will be increased spawning of all Pokémon for the duration of the Spotlight Hour.

Previous Pokémon to be featured as part of a Spotlight Hour include Onix and Spoink.

As for the Mystery Bonus Hour on Thursday, we won't know which Pokémon (if any) will be featured. We'll just have to wait and see!
