Youngsters learn music – George Formby style
Youngsters are going old school when it comes to their musical choices – taking on an instrument made popular by the late George Formby.
S Anselm’s Preparatory School, off Stanedge Road, Bakewell, has set up a ukulele club for its pupils every Friday at break time.
Pupils have either purchased their own instruments or asked for them as Christmas presents and are enjoying playing them all together with three members of staff.
Dale Robinson, year five form teacher, said: “It is wonderful to see such enthusiasm from so many children. George Formby would be proud.”
