Young man dies after crash in Chesterfield

A pedestrian has died following a crash in Chesterfield.

Police said the collision – involving a car which did not stop – happened on Malvern Road at around 4.30pm on Tuesday.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “A man, aged in his 30s, suffered serious injuries and sadly died at the scene.

“Officers located the vehicle believed to be involved with the incident following enquiries, and have arrested a woman on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.”

Witnesses are urged to contact Derbyshire Constabulary, quoting reference number 21*188745.
