Women trapped in Derbyshire crash dramas

Firefighters from Belper dealt with three road crashes in less than two hours on Tuesday.

Crews rushed to Belper Road in the town at about 4.25pm after receiving reports that a woman was trapped in an overturned car.

Firefighters used specialist equipment to cut her out of the vehicle.

She was left in the care of the ambulance service.

At about 5.15pm, a car crashed into a lamppost on Derby Road, Duffield.

Firefighters freed a trapped woman driver who was then treated by paramedics.

The Highways Agency attended the scene to repair the lamppost.

And at about 5.55pm, crews attended the A6 between Belper and Ambergate to deal with an overturned car.

Firefighters gave first-aid to a casualty who had escaped from the vehicle.
