Woman run over outside Buxworth School

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision outside Buxworth Primary School at 3.40pm on Wednesday, when a Honda CRV collided with a stationary Kia Sedona which hit a pedestrian.

It also left the road, went onto a verge and hit a tree and a lamppost. The casualty, a 50-year-old woman from Chapel-en-le-Frith, ended up under the car and sustained head and pelvic injuries.

The patient was assessed for her injuries by critical care paramedics from the air ambulance. She was given much needed pain relief and immobilised with a pelvic binder and then transferred to Stepping Hill Hospital, before being taken to Wythenshawe Hospital and later moved to Hope Hospital in Salford.

The Station Road school issued a statement saying: “There was an accident after school this afternoon in which two of our parents were injured. Several parents helped at the scene and gave statements to the police. If you or your children witnessed the incident and have information to pass on to the police, please could you call 101 re: incident 425. Thank you.”
