Witness appeal after Matlock Bath attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a couple were attacked outside a pub in Matlock Bath.

At around 9.50pm on Saturday, June 15, the couple were sat outside the Fishpond, on South Parade, when they were approached by a man and woman.

The woman shouted verbal abuse at the couple – a 29-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man – before grabbing the woman’s hair and pulling her to the ground.

She also slapped the victim several times in the face.

At the same time the male offender grabbed the 33-year-old man from behind and pulled him to the floor.

He kicked and punched the victim several times. Both victims suffered minor injuries.

The offenders then left on foot in the direction of Gulliver’s Kingdom.

They are both described as being in their 40s. The woman was of slim build, with shoulder-length dark hair. She was wearing a white top with a dark jacket and blue jeans.

The man was over six feet tall, of a large, muscular build, with very short, dark hair. He was wearing a grey top and blue jeans.
