Winster Wakes

Winster Wakes is a long-established tradition that takes place in the week following the festival of John the Baptist, patron saint of the village church.

There are plenty of exciting events all week, but what makes it really special for hundreds of visitors every year is the Saturday Carnival on Winster’s historic Main Street.

There you will see a parade of floats, fancy dress, Winster’s traditional morris men in action, clog dancing, stalls, street entertainment, bars, cafes and tug-o-war in front of Winster Hall.
