The Bibby Distribution lorry - which was transporting cardboard - ended up on its side on the busy roundabout shortly before 7am yesterday.

A spokesperson for Bibby Distribution said this afternoon: "We understand the driver of this vehicle took evasive action to avoid a collision with a car that made a late decision to leave the roundabout.

"We are very grateful no-one was injured."

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said no arrests were made and added: "All suggests it was nothing more than an accident."

The lorry was eventually put back upright and cardboard had to be cleared from the carriageway.

The incident caused long delays in the area for several hours.
