Lockdown rules have eased in Chesterfield today – and the weather forecast is looking hopeful for those hoping to enjoy that first drink or meal outside.

It is going to stay dry for the next week or so but temperatures will remain on the cold side reaching highs of 12°C, according to the Met Office forecast.

When the sun is out it will feel warmer, but there will still be a chill during frequent cloudy spells with a few isolated showers possible so be sure to wrap up warm.

Temperatures will reach as high as 9°C with a less than five per cent chance of rain throughout the day.

“A dry and frosty, but mostly sunny start with light winds. Some cloud bubbling up from late morning with sunny spells and perhaps a few isolated showers by the afternoon. Still rather cold, but feeling warmer in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 10°C,” the Met Office forecast for the East Midlands area said.

Tuesday 13: Sunny changing to cloudy by lunchtime. Highs of 10°C with a 10 per cent chance or less of rain.

Wednesday 14: Sunny intervals changing to cloudy by lunchtime. Highs of 10°C with a 10 per cent chance or less of rain.

Thursday 15: Sunny changing to overcast by lunchtime. Highs of 10°C with a 10 per cent chance or less of rain.

Friday 16: Sunny changing to overcast by lunchtime. Highs of 10°C with a 10 per cent chance or less of rain.

Saturday 17: Sunny changing to overcast by lunchtime. Highs of 11°C with a 10 per cent chance or less of rain.

Sunday 18: Sunny changing to cloudy by late morning. Highs of 12°C with a 10 per cent chance or less of rain.

Met Office UK long range weather forecast (Friday April 16 - Sunday April 25):

"The most likely scenario for the start of this period is for mainly settled conditions to be in place across the country with high pressure dominating.

"Unsettled conditions with rain showers may affect the northwest during the weekend and at times through the rest of this period, with southeastern areas likely remaining drier and brighter.

"Temperatures will likely remain at or slightly below average at first, before recovering to potentially slightly above average at times. Confidence decreases after this, however towards the end of this period it will likely be turning less unsettled with more dry and bright interludes.

"Generally, it is expected to feel rather warm, although temperatures could be supressed in wetter areas.”
