Strong winds and rain set to batter Chesterfield

Chesterfield is expected to be hit by strong winds and rain later this week according to weather forecasts.

BBC Weather predicts that there will be strong gusts of winds and showers across the town on Sunday, March 28.

The wet and windy weather comes after a week of mostly sunshine and warmer temperatures across Chesterfield.

Today (March 26) is set to remain mostly dry with light showers, breaks of sunshine and a moderate breeze, although it could get as cold as 2°C later on.

Saturday will be mainly sunny with a moderate breeze and highs of 10°C - with temperatures dropping down to 7°C at night, according to forecasts from BBC Weather.

While Sunday is expected to start off with showers and bursts of wet weather - with a 44% to 14% chance of rain throughout the day.

Gusty winds of up to 44 mph from the south west are set to hit the town on March 28 along with light cloud and humidity level of 75%.

But it will remain relatively warm, with temperatures anticipated to rise to 14°C and fall to 10°C in the evening on Sunday.

Across the north of England Saturday is expected to see the chance of a shower or two early in the morning on higher ground and then increasing sunny spells as the day goes on with winds expected to diminish later on.

Sunday is forecast be a blustery day, but milder, with plenty of cloud and the chance of the odd shower or spell of rain.
