Derbyshire police said this has prompted them to issue seven local flood warnings in several areas with immediate action required.
The areas include River Derwent at Darley Dale, River Goyt at Whaley Bridge, River Soar at Zouch Island, River Wye at Ashford in the Water-Church Street area, River Wye at Litton Mill, Wye Bank and Miltord at Bakewell and River Blithe.

Hide AdOn Monday, the amber weather warning was enforced and is valid from 6am on Tuesday through midday on Thursday where rainfall rainfall accumulations could reach up to 200mm in parts of the southern Pennines and northern Peak District, 40-70mm could be seen more widely.
Environmental Agency has also warned that roads, houses and farmland in Bakewell could become flooded.
Residents have been advised to move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety.
Teams from Derbyshire Dales District Council are also checking on properties close to the river.

Hide AdRiver levels have risen at the Ashford river gauge following heavy rain, with more downpours forecast over the next 48 hours and patrols of local watercourses taking place.
Chief Meteorologist Neil Armstrong, said: “Storm Christoph will bring a mix of notable weather hazards across the UK over the next few days. Some locations in central Northern England and Wales could see a month’s rain fall in just a couple of days, with up to 200mm possible over higher ground.”
According to the Met Office, the day in the East Midlands is expected to start off mild with outbreaks of rain and drizzle but heavy at times particularly over higher ground with a maximum temperature of 11°C.
Tonight, winds are expected to ease for a time during the evening but remaining wet with further pulses of often heavy rain, with a minimum temperature of 2°C.
