Met Office forecasts the three days when snow is set to fall in Chesterfield this week

Weather forecasters have predicted that snow could fall on three days in Derbyshire this week.

Today will have a fine and windy afternoon with sunny spells.

Tonight it will remain windy and turning cold under long clear spells. It will stay largely dry too, apart from the odd shower to the west, with a slight frost forming. Minimum temperature 2C.

Tuesday will be windier than Monday, though remaining cold in a fresh northwesterly breeze. A dry morning is expected but showers will become increasingly more widespread through the afternoon, some wintry.

There is an ice risk overnight. Maximum temperature 7C.

Snow is forecast from 9pm on Tuesday to 3am Wednesday.

According to the Met Office the outlook for Wednesday to Friday period looks predominantly cold, with a few wintry showers, but some bright spells.

There is a chance of some more organised rain and hill snow briefly Thursday and later Friday.
