Heavy rain and possible flooding forecast for Derbyshire this weekend, as weather warning is issued

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and potential flooding in Derbyshire lasting throughout Saturday and Sunday.

The warning states that the heavy rain could bring some flooding and transport disruption in the area. Spray could also make driving in some areas difficult, and could lead to road closures.

The heaviest rain is expected on Saturday, which will be subject to downpour without pause throughout. On Sunday the rain is forecast to stop in the early hours, and to resume, albeit a little lighter, for the rest of the day.

By 10pm on Sunday night the is potential for it to be dry again.

Temperatures in Derbyshire throughout the weekend will peak between 12C and 14C, with lows of around 9C on Saturday and 7C on Sunday.

The Met Office said that any chance of flooding is small, however if there is any it could lead to road closures or issues with power.
