Chesterfield to be hit by snow and sleet showers this evening

Wintry showers of snow and sleet are forecast to come down over Chesterfield tonight, the latest weather reports have predicted.

At around 1am tonight sleet showers and snow are expected to fall across the town according to BBC Weather.

The temperature will drop to 3°C but it will feel as cold as -2°C with a low chance of rain and a moderate breeze.

Snow and sleet is forecast to fall until 3am – with an hour’s break – before the white stuff is set to come down again from 4am to 5am.

Despite the cold blast, Saturday is expected to be mainly sunny and cloudy with highs of 10°C and temperatures dropping to 7°C.

Although the extreme weather is set to continue later this week as strong strong gusts of winds and showers are forecast across the town on March 28.

Sunday will start off with showers and bursts of wet weather - with a 44% to 14% chance of rain throughout the day.

Gusty winds of up to 44 mph from the south west are set to hit the town on March 28 along with light cloud and humidity level of 75%.

But it will remain relatively warm, with temperatures anticipated to rise to 14°C and fall to 10°C in the evening on Sunday.

The wet and windy weather comes after a week of mostly sunshine and warmer temperatures across Chesterfield

Across the north of England, Saturday is predicted to be mainly dry with the chance of a shower or two early in the morning on higher ground and increasing sunny spells as the day goes on.
