The Met office has forecast a very windy day for Tuesday, May 2, with some rain initially but getting brighter and drier.
Expect a cloudy start during the morning with spells of mainly light rain or drizzle to become brighter in the afternoon with a few sunny spells, but becoming very windy with gale-force gusts at times.
Tonight will be mainly dry with just a few isolated showers, these mostly easing by midnight and becoming restricted to the Pennines. Winds easing during the early hours. Maximum temperature 19 degrees centigrade today and minimum of eight degrees tonight.
