Record Store Day, an international celebration of the independent music sector, has been running for seven years in the USA and UK, with Chesterfield’s own Tallbird Records getting in on the act for the first time on Saturday.

Maria Harris, owner of the Soresby Stree store, said: “We had more than 70 people queueing literally around the block by the time we opened the doors at 9am.

“There was a fabulous atmosphere in the shop all day.”
