VIDEO: Wirksworth Carnival and well dressings

The festivities for Wirksworth Carnival and well dressings weekend started on Saturday, with a blessing of the wells, followed by a walk around the wells accompanied by BMW brass band.

The carnival queen and attendants were then crowned in St Mary’s churchyard.

The weekend featured a variety of activities and attractions, including a five–a–side football match, children’s rides, the wheelbarrow race and entertainment.

One of the highlights of the weekend was the parade, in which local people and organisations decorated floats showing their carnival spirit.
