Lisa McTighe, owner of Fresh, added: “We’re really excited for this year’s carnival weekend. A lot of work has been put into the organising.

“With each year we have managed to bring more and more to the event, with the focus very much being to bring back the town’s parade for 2016.

“We wouldn’t have been able to put together the event without the help of many of the town’s local businesses.

“Their support has been amazing. You can help them out too, so please support our town’s independent businesses.”

This year the first Music In The Park event will also take place on the Sunday, featuring many local artists and musicians.

Matlock Carnival runs on both Saturday and Sunday, with activities starting at 10am and running until 5pm. Entrance to the park is free.
