Enthusiasts came from far and wide to attend the Bakewell Toy and Train Fair at the Agricultural Business Centre (ABC) over the bank holiday weekend.

One of the organisers, Steve Howard, said: “The fair was everything that is collectable, so it can be anything from Star Wars to Doctor Who.

“We had traders there that had stuff from the 1920s and 1950s – toys and trains of all eras and trains.

We even had some porcelain dolls from the turn of the century.”

Steve, who owns a collectors’ store in New Mills, said that while the turnout was low on Saturday, it picked up well on Sunday.

“We have people that come every year and plan their holidays for the toy fair,” he added.

The toy fair will return to the ABC on the August bank holiday.
