Travellers leave Chesterfield car park

The group set up camp on part of the car park at Queen's Park Sports Centre on Boythorpe Road over the weekend.

This morning, a Chesterfield Borough Council spokesman confirmed that the Travellers had left the site.

On Monday, officials visited the Travellers to carry out welfare checks.

A direction to leave notice was served on Tuesday and the Travellers were told they faced possible court action if they did not move.
