The Met Office has announced another yellow weather warning for snow and ice across Derbyshire – active between 3.00am tomorrow and 6.00pm on Friday, March 10.
Chesterfield and Derbyshire residents were told to expect heavy snow, with the potential for significant disruption across Thursday and Friday.

Hide AdThere is a small chance that long delays and cancellations on bus, rail and air travel could occur. Roads may become blocked by deep snow, leaving vehicles and passengers stranded.
There is a small chance that communities could be cut off for several days, with possible extended interruptions to power supplies and other services – including gas, water, telephone and mobile phone coverage.
Ice and snow could lead to difficult travel conditions in places, with some roads and railways likely to be affected. Icy patches may form on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths – which could lead to injuries.
Sleet is expected to fall across Chesterfield between 1.00pm and 5.00pm today – with light snow predicted from 6.00pm till midnight.

More sleet is forecast between 10.00am and 3.00pm on Friday, and is expected to continue throughout Saturday. Temperatures are set to rise on Sunday – signalling the end of this recent cold spell.
