Traffic delays and two lanes closed after crash on M1 in Derbyshire

The incident occurred this afternoon on the M1 Southbound between J29 A617 for Chesterfield, Matlock and Mansfield and Tibshelf Services.

It is reported that traffic was temporarily held due to the accident between a lorry and a car.

Traffic Officers, Recovery Maintenance Crews and Derbyshire’s Roads Policing Unit attended the scene and worked to move the two vehicles.

Although the stretch is now fully reopen, delays of up to 10 minutes are still expected with congestion to J29a for Markham Vale and Bolsover as traffic clears.
