Second crash on M1 in Derbyshire today causes further delays – as traffic builds along route

Another incident on the M1 has led to disruption for drivers in Derbyshire this afternoon.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix has reported an accident on the M1 northbound – with one lane currently closed.

The incident occurred between J29, which connects the route to the A617 between Chesterfield and Mansfield, and J29A, which links the M1 to Bolsover and Markham Vale.

Traffic is queuing on the route, and National Highways hope that normal conditions will return by 3.00pm.

This follows a collision on the motorway this morning, between J29A and J30 at Barlborough, involving a car and a van.
