Highways England reopen lane on M1 in Derbyshire after vehicle breaks down

A lane of traffic has been reopened on the M1 in Derbyshire this afternoon after a vehicle broke down on the carriageway.

The incident occurred earlier today (Thursday, August 19) southbound on the motorway between junctions 29 and 28.

Highways England temporarily shut off a lane of traffic while recovery workers made their way to the scene to remove the broken down vehicle.

The lane reopened shortly before 5pm this evening and ‘normal’ traffic conditions have resumed as there is currently no congestion on the M1 in Derbyshire.
