Traffic: Safety warning as high winds hit Derbyshire

Motorists are advised to be careful on the roads today due to high winds expected to last throughout the day.

Commuters are facing slow-moving traffic on the southbound carriageway of the M1 today between junction 30 and junction 29.

This is due to ongoing roadworks on the motorway.

There is congestion on the A610 Nottinghamshire eastbound at the A6002, but traffic is moving inbound at Nuttall Island

Roadworks which will cause delays today include the A517 Ashbourne Road in Turnditch is closed at the Hagg Lane junction because of drainage works.

The A6187 Main Road in Hathersage is closed in both directions between the Crossland Road junction and the Jagger’s Lane junction because of water main work.

There are temporary traffic lights on Makeney Road in Duffield at the Church Drive junction.

There are temporary traffic lights on the A61 Derby Road in Wingerworth between the Longedge Lane junction and the Nottingham Drive junction.

Gas main work is taking place on the A515 in Monyash between The Rake junction and the B5055 Tagg Lane junction.

Gas main work is taking place on the A515 in Newhaven between the A5012 junction and the B5054 junction.

Gas main work is taking place on the A515 Brierlow Bar in Buxton between the Brierlow Grange junction and the Sterndale Moor junction.

Resurfacing work is taking place on the A615 Matlock Road in Wessington between the Lindway Lane junction and the Brackenfield Lane junction.
